My name is Simon Chap and I started Chapstone Property to partner with like-minded people like yourself to reach goals through property development!
I'm still working on this website, and I hope to provide more information about me and provide a photo where it looks like I can wear a tie!
Starting a career
My career started in State government working in data analysis and multi-modal transport modelling, before I transitioned to the private sector working for a global engineering firm as a transport planning consultant.
Quarter-life crisis
I left the industry in 2014 as a sort of 'quarter-life crisis' and took up the hustle culture: I drove a business-class taxi and then drove for Uber in my Volkswagen Polo (before it was legal in Queensland), I sold fruit and vegetables at the Saturday and Sunday local farmer's market at Carseldine and Nundah. I've worked as an extra on films, TV shows and commercials. And I joined mum in her business ventures: looking after a guesthouse, management of her rental properties, undertaking repairs and maintenance, and most excitedly, being involved in her townhouse development projects.
Pursuing a passion
It is through these experiences that have taught me to enjoy what I'm doing through my work and to continue to pursue my passions and dreams. My passion has always been involved with cities, transport and shaping the built environment. And it is through property development, I find the most satisfaction. I enjoy seeing a project start from a chance, an idea, an opportunity, right through to the finished end product. That experience is like living a dream, and I hope to share that experience with others.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers, Simon.
